WOMENS CLOTHING EXCHANGE TO BENEFIT DWC

Please join us on June 3rd for a meditation and conscious clothing exchange in benefit of the Downtown LA Women’s Center. The DWC is the only organization in Los Angeles exclusively dedicated to addressing the needs of women overcoming poverty and homelessness in Skid Row. These people do amazing work, if you wanna get to know them a bit better click on the link.
So go through your closet and ask yourself what clothes you really want to keep, everything else you can bring to the party. Nothing is too hideous, nothing is too weird. Trust me, someone might love it! Small household items are welcome as well. If you absolutely LOVE all your clothes, great! Come anyways and find more gems!
We know this is LA, but we will start at 7:30pm with a meditation to set the mood, so please be 10-15minutes early if possible, or you know, at least be on time.
Suggested Donation $10, nobody will be turned away for lack of funds!
A KATONAH + SKY TING WORKSHOP: FORM TO FLUENCY

Join SKY TING co-founder Chloe Kernaghan and Katonah mastress Dages Juvelier Keates on a journey from form to fluency. The first part of the workshop will break down the angles and measures of Katonah classics: dogs, hangs, squares, lunges, squats and pigeons. From there we will dive into an ocean of fluency, knitting asana together into SKY TING''s poetic sequencing. Afterwards, we will plumb the depths and whip up the heights with an ecstatic and pragmatic pranayama extravaganza. Do not miss the opportunity to practice with these amazing women! GIVING AN EXPERIENCE: THE ART OF ADJUSTMENTS

Yoga is a contact sport! We adjust in yoga to give the practitioner an experience she or he cannot give her/himself. Learning the anatomy of the body to enhance the physical as well as mental experience of the practice is imperative in giving an adjustment that is helpful and not harmful. Join Leah Schlackman to learn the basics of reading a body and how to confidently approach the art of adjusting. This workshop is for both teachers and students looking to deepen their knowledge of the body as well as the practice
PERSONALLY TRAVELING THE MAGIC SQUARE

The magic square is a tool to travel your mind through the body increasingly refining your form in the physical postures and the ethereal imagination. Understanding this esoteric alignment within your body allows you to constantly organize yourself so you are at your best. This alignment is used to travel through the territory of the body’s map, hitting each room in your house, so you can organize your inner world. This repetition allows space for insights, enabling you to refine your form consistently until you are a conduit in which current can move through effortlessly and with ease. Explore this ancient glyph in your own body in order to move closer to cosmic alignment and watch as life unfolds with grace. COMMUNALLY ADJUSTING THE MAGIC SQUARE

his workshop will focus on participating in the bigger picture, one’s community, by using the magic square as a tool to adjust others. Refining the magic square inside of your own body is a way to organize your internal space. After you have an understanding of what is going on inside it becomes a joy to move outside of yourself and participate with the world around you. It is also hard to see yourself and where your blind spots are. With community you have the opportunity to have a vision that wouldn’t have been available to you alone. Allowing someone else move you in a direction you never thought to go you will see something new. By lending a hand and learning how to read the magic square in each other’s bodies we will adjust one another to move communally into a more unified vision. It is to understand ourselves and our fit to the world outside of us.
