The spine is the centre of our health, the heart of our nervous system. Esoterically the spine is our celestial pillar, the gateway between the cosmos and the planet and the highway from the primitive to the conscious. As gravity pulls our spines down we need tools and techniques to manipulate gravity. This workshop is focused on unwinding the spine, unraveling and relinquishing deeply held patterns that lie within.

PARTNER YOGA

SUNDAY 5/6 12:30-3pm at Love Yoga East

This workshop is a great way to understand your body in new relationship to gravity, and therefore strengthening your inner alignment. We will be exploring forms and flipping them on their side, upside down and backwards, with the help of a partner. The idea is to have the support of another person in order to experience more space and time in ourselves. The work of partnering is to practice both being held and holding another. We will learn when it is appropriate to let go, and when it is appropriate to stay steady and solid. This work will seamlessly show up in your alone time on the mat: our relationship with other offers us information about our relationship with ourselves! See you there!

The New Moon marks the beginning & end of every Lunar Cycle. It is when the Moon is directly aligned with the Sun, appearing as if it has vanished from our sky. We can use the energy of this time to go inward & bring forth our deepest intentions. By gathering in a circle with other women, we can provide support, share & connect with one another, helping to manifest & magnify our intentions out into the Universe. When we come together for this sacred event, so many women all over the world will be doing the same. Expect a meditation, a brief discussion on the astrologic energy of this particular New Moon, journaling, sharing & take home a special gift from Moon Body Soul.

In this workshop, we will cover the basics of balancing on your hands and getting upside-down. The focus will be on developing the fundamentals to safely and confidently practice crow pose, headstands, and handstands. This workshop is perfect for beginner/intermediate students who want to advance their practice, and also for more advanced students and teachers who want to learn new teaching techniques.
